Icons & Color

During this phase of the process we've begun exploring color, hooray! Before we actually explored color digitally we sketched out different ways we color incorporate color in our icons by hand such as filling the positives or negatives, adding new details and creating backgrounds elements. In the second step of the process we used our previous culture books to sample colors for our icons with the aid of the color guide in illustrator. While picking analogous and split complementary color schemes I attempted to pick one color that would be more dominant and two secondary colors for support. After developing color schemes we then combined those colors with our color sketches to produce 10 variations of colored icons.
