Gene Federico's design for
Woman's Day magazine is a great example of a visual pun. The playoff of the close proximity of the two letter 'o' in the word 'go out' is a very memorable solution to reinforce the copy. To stay in the theme of bicycles, Arnold Schewartzman's cycling poster for the Los Angeles Olympics is another historic example of a visual pun. The tires of the three bicycles creating the rings of the Olympics.
